Alcatel-Lucent

GGA designed this National AIA-Award winning corporate office for the Washington, DC government division of Lucent Technologies. Keeping the business function in primary focus, GGA collocated constituent divisions such as sales, marketing, contracts and pricing. Several front-of-the-house conference rooms complement the expansive Demonstration Center designed to showcase Lucent’s products and services. In the back office, the open perimeter and open-plan workstations allow views of the city and its classical architecture, with closed offices and team rooms centered in the interior. Lucent’s brand image suffuses the efficient and effective workplace with technological sculpture and carefully modulated light. The dynamic interaction of materials, such as aluminum, steel, glass, wood and terrazzo convey the power, beauty and energy inherent in technological innovations.
