Leveraging Technology
GGA has been a leader in technology for more than 20 years. Presently, GGA utilizes an array of hardware and software applications that provide significant value to our clients through detailed and robust visualizations, quality documentation, data information and analysis and scenario options for building issues. At the cornerstone of our technology utilization is the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, which is an integral part of how we provide our services to our clients and the delivery of their projects. As an office standard, BIM is utilized on every project in order to provide the highest quality designs and service. The advanced technology allows for the creation of a virtual digital model of our projects through all stages of the design process. It can simulate real world performance while streamlining workflow, increasing productivity and improving quality. BIM provides a database of statistical information about the planning, building or interior to be used for cost estimation and budget control, building systems coordination, systems fabrication, scheduling and sustainable tracking. Incorporating BIM into our projects allows for better design visualization, better coordination, access to detailed statistical information, fewer change orders and ultimately a better quality project at a lower cost.
As a leader in BIM, GGA was the first firm in the Washington, DC area recognized with national AIA BIM awards for its work in 2005 and 2006. Our in-house BIM experts are regarded as a national resource in the use of the technology and frequently receive requests from the GSA, as well as industry organizations to present on the applications of BIM and its use and benefits. GGA is currently providing BIM services to the GSA under and five year IDIQ contract.
