GGA (GGA) is proud to serve as the lead designer for Michel the newest restaurant by Michel Richard, opening fall 2010. Located in the Ritz Carlton at Tyson’s Corner, Michel will infuse the hotel with the character and life the James Beard Award-winning chef is known for. The space combines the elegance of his Georgetown location, Citronelle, and the business atmosphere found in his latest venture, Central, also designed by the nationally recognized GGA. Michel will be a destination for business breakfasts and lunches and transforms into an elegant evening dining venue serving innovative modern French cuisine in a contemporary setting, where guests can enjoy everything from duck with figs and cinnamon to chocolate crème brulee.
 
Michel melds a relaxed atmosphere with a chic sophistication captured in the clean lines of the details. Michel can be described as a compilation of the elements that define a restaurant. Reflective silver found in cutlery is translated into the sleek chrome lines that draw in guests. A well-seasoned chopping block translates into grayed wood paneling that wraps the restaurant in comforting and inviting warmth. Most notably, the deep burgundy hues of a rich red wine infuse the space with color, establishing a fun yet intimate feel.
 
In addition to the subtle cues, the space is filled with literal creations such as the dish sculpture that has become a signature of Michel Richard restaurants. This is playfully pronounced again in the 30 plus foot light fixture that mimics plates transcending above the main dining space. It is these whimsical interpretations of all things culinary that define Michel as both an engaging and welcoming place to dine.
