Toka

Toka Café, in Washington, DC, ushered in the new millennium with a fusion of style and flavor. Working with Toka Business Ventures, GGA transformed the two-section, basement interior in the heart of DC into an effervescent mélange of oblique lighting, and bold color accents with aluminum and steel structural elements. A striking sculptural plane divides the dining area from the bar area, while variations on the theme extend the length of the café: supporting glass planes become the anchor of the bar and reveal the enticing wine rack. In this minimalist setting, everything has a dual purpose; function and aesthetic highlight the synergy in intricate cuisine and sensuous design. Here, in the midst of the Toka Café brand’s atmosphere, savvy clientele revel in high quality design, both of architecture and cuisine.
