23 Eye Street NW

The design of JPI Development Services' latest building in the exciting Half Street neighborhood of SE Washington, DC, is a mix of clean modern lines and warm traditional materials. The building was designed to achieve a Gold LEED rating through the use of a cooling tower mechanical system for the residential units, the use of recycled and reclaimed used materials, and various sustainable construction methods.

Planning for the lobby and amenity spaces were centered around a connection to the outside and to natural light. The main lobby soars two stories from the street entrance to a center courtyard garden. A light, frame-supported stair rises from a reflecting pool to the second floor, against a backdrop of a natural stone wall. A simple, clean-edged glass and steel railing system allows the natural materials to be visible. The public spaces, placed along the window to interact with the street, include a party room, a bar, and fitness center
